KENDRICK WOODS Kendrick Wood's original 181 acres was purchased in 1976 through a bequest by Florence Kendrick along with a 50% matching Federal grant (no cost to local taxpayers). An additional 25 acres were purchased, along with conservation easements, with the remaining Federal grant money in 1985-1986. The Park District purchased an additional 11 acres in 1990 and 92.5 acres in 1999. Kendrick Woods is Allen County's largest contiguous woodlot with 472.29 acres of scenic natural areas to explore. Abundant in a variety of plant species, animals, reptiles and amphibians. Designated a State Nature Preserve by the State of Ohio. LOCATION Kendrick Woods is located at 971 N. Defiance Trail in Amanda Township, 10 miles west of Lima, 1/2 mile north of St. Rt. 81. FEATURES
