The Allen County Farm Park was created in 1982, through a 90 year, no cost lease agreement with the Allen County Commissioners and the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. The lease consisted of a 45 acre tract of land that was originally part of the Allen County Home. In 2003 an additional 18.8 acres were added to the 45 acres by a donation from the Park District Foundation of Allen County.
The Allen County Farm Park may be rented for special occasions. This unique rustic barn is the perfect setting for company picnics, family and class reunions and wedding receptions. Hayrides are offered for a minimal fee during the Autumn months. This is a seasonal facility and open by reservation only.
Adjacent to the Allen County Farm Park is a 2.5 mile bridle trail. The parking lot and entrance is just north of the Farm Park’s entrance. The bridle trail is free, handicap accessible and open to the public every day during the daylight hours. Allen County Farm Park brochure
