Serviceberry

Amelanchier laevis

Native to eastern North America the serviceberry is a multi-stemmed small tree reaching up to 25 feet tall. In the spring this tree produces showy white flowers that are followed by edible fruit, like blueberry. The serviceberry is a valuable tree for wildlife as it produces a favorite berry among birds and is also highly attractive to both native bees as well as honeybees for a nectar source.
