Log Cabin & Smokehouse Pioneer Demonstrations

Have you ever wondered how our ancestors preserved their foods before refrigeration and modern canning methods? Meat was preserved through the long process of smoking and salting. Many fruits and vegetables were preserved for the winter by drying and salting. Early 1800’s reenactors will be on site to provide hands-on demonstrations of the daily challenges and creative solutions developed by the Ohio pioneers.
